The Little Tin Shed, Mangawhai.

As I continue to tick off my ever-growing list of getaway destinations, I won’t be gatekeeping any - especially not this one…

The Little Tin Shed is just 1.5 hours from Auckland city and only 5 minutes from Mangawhai township. The cabin looks out over beautiful green pasture and is the perfect place to disconnect from the real world, to enjoy the simple things with a book in hand. The Little Tin Shed encompasses an authentically old aesthetic while maintaining the perfect balance of select modern-day luxuries.

Every detail has been so carefully thought out, from the lighting to the beautifully tiled shower and rustic touches scattered throughout the cabin. Whether you’re visiting in winter or summer, this quiet rural location encompasses the best of what the town has to offer. Surrounded by beaches and a bustling little village, this is the perfect destination to unwind. (P.s Bennetts of Mangawhai is a must visit for brunch and/or a chocolate fix).

Completely off-grid, The Little Tin Shed has everything you need but nothing that you don’t - bonus points for a very minimal footprint on the environment, which is always a yes from me!
